In September, I went to the Gourd Festival at Davis Ranch in Sloughouse, a small town about 30 miles northeast of Elk Grove, CA where I live. It was the second year of this festival to be held in this particular ranch. In the past, it was hosted by the Zittel family in Folsom, CA at their farm but the old couple who owns that farm has retired. It was great that another family farm stepped up to carry the yearly tradition.
