We thought of this blog as an outlet to talk about my and my daughter's aesthetic sensibilities. Since last year, I noticed that Maddie's unique style is evolving. She's 12, turning 13 soon and her eye for design is becoming sharp and polished. She styles her own outfits and is getting good compliments. Like most young girls, she loves clothes and fashion. I, on another hand love creating things and admiring beautiful objects- paintings, artwork, illustrations, pottery, textiles, books, etc..

| This is my version of those fake Japanese food displays you find at food courts (e.g. sushi plates or bento boxes). I use natural materials-- broken pottery, pieces of granite, glass beads. I got the striped ceramic bowl at a museum store in Philadelphia. |
